What software do you use to make worksheets?

Hi everyone,
I would like to know: What software do you guys use to create your worksheets? I just submitted my first "real" worksheet yesterday, and I used:
- Open Office Draw to arrange the text and images. Draw is *MUCH* easier than Writer (or Microsoft Word), because you can move text around easier when it �s in boxes.
- GIMP (the free version of photoshop). I exported the Draw file as a JPEG, then compressed it using GIMP. link: http://www.gimp.org/
Has anyone got any tips or ideas for a beginner such as myself  ??? Thanks!
p.s. this site is a great idea... teachers need to collaborate more.

you can change the background colour of .doc s to something eye catching, which won �t print and waste out ink. I find that if you have a white background and few or no pictures no one even bothers to look at your worksheet.

I totally agree that people don�t bother to look at stuff without colours and pictures. Which makes sense because students need some kind of visual way in to the topic, I think.
On the other hand, perhaps my latest worksheet is over the top [http://www.eslprintables.com/printable.asp?id=351034#thetop ]... it�s more or less essential to print it in colour or the text won�t show up very clearly, and it will need a lot of ink because it �s a JPEG.
Back to the drawing board....

Worksheets that aren �t editable are absolutely annoying, so I never download them. If on top of that you incorporate lots of pictures, the worksheet is virtually useless; as you mentioned yourself, how much ink would you need to print a ws like that?
Btw, you can use OpenOffice Write and save in .doc format.

Okay, good tip, thanks. That means that I�ll have to make them with Writer.... A tad more difficult than Draw but let�s see.

I couldn �t send you the PM, so...
You asked for some suggestions, so here they are: :-)
- upload editable versions if possible (save as - Word 2002 document)
-
if you have old wss you want to upload and you have uneditable version,
please upload BOTH colour and BW printer friendly version in one
file... Most teachers print BW sheets to 15-30 students, so that �s why
the BW version is needed. Colour version is used for DISPLAYING (OHP)
and single posters...
- do not hesitate to upload several pages - if
more pages included, mention it in the NAME of the printable - it is
eye catching and more teachers will download it then...
- first page
+ name + description is the advertisement of your ws, so the more
interesting it looks, the more downloads = more happy teachers all
around the world...
Your work seems very interesting, please keep on sharing! Native speakers are more than welcomed!
Please don �t be sad if your ws are overlooked, there are 500-800 new worksheets every day...
