Love in different languages

akuzmenok
Ukraine

In Ukrainian we say kohannya or liubov which means love. I love you sounds like Ya tebe kohaiu or Ya tebe liubliu (i pronounced ay j). Slavic languages often sound similar in the conenction. In Ukrainian we have something like miluyi, but it means to marvel (myluvatis ), or mercy (mylist ).

In Hindi (the official language in India) love is "Pyar" or "Mohabbat". To say I love you, a man would say "Mein tumse pyar karta hoon" and a woman would say, "Mein tumse pyar karti hoon"! ;-)))
