I have these sentences and one word is missing. i JUST DON T KNOW WHICH WORD IS MISING.
      1. iF YOU JUST BE PATIENT, I m sure the doctor will se you soon.

      2.  If you happen to see Mr Parkerbefore i do, CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHY WE WERE LATE.

     3. YOU TO GO THROUGH WITH LEGAL ACTION, it could become very expensive.

I m not sure either, but: I would try this:
1. If you would/could just be patient, I m sure the doctor will see you soon.
2. If you happen to see Mr Parker (before) I do, can you, please, explain why we are late?
3. If you have to go through with legal action, it could become very expensive.
But, maybe something is missing?

They look like conditionals to me.

1.  If you can just be patient, I m sure the doctor will see you soon.
2.  If you happen to see Mr. Parker before I do, can you please explain (to him) why we were late?  (question mark required)
3.  If you go through legal action, it could become very expensive.

Good luck!

If it s definitely only one word missing, I d suggest the following:

1. If you would/could just be patient, I m sure the doctor will see you soon.

2. If you should happen to see Mr Parker before I do, can you explain why we were late.

3. Were you to go through with legal action, it could become very expensive.

Hope this helps!

I agree with Ishorton99.

On #1, "will" is also possible.

Also, #2 definitely must have a question mark, since it is a question.

they seem to be conditionals, as zoemorosini has suggested, but to my mind sentence 3 would rather look like Ishorton 99 s answer since " could become" requires a condition that s unreal and this is possible only when we insert "were"
3. Were you to go through with legal action, it could become very expensive
paraphrase as " if i went through legal action, it could become very expensive" but i m not u so it s impossible
recall that the instruction was to provide one missing word

MANY THANKS FROM MOROCCO

What I understand is that all the conditionals here require the usage of modal verbs in the subordinate clause. My solution:

1. If you will/can just be patient, I m sure...................
2. If you should happen to see/Should you happen to see Mr. Parker...........
3  If you would go (stubbernness in doing smth)through legal action, it.............

Just a side note here:

The first two are perfectly ok in spoken English... the 3rd example does need the "Were you to go..." bit... I would even venture as much as to say that the first two are not exactly grammatically incorrect as sentences either...
