�� Can you tell which sentence is correct and in which grammar reference can I study this point?

�� � � � I �m from the City of Riverdale.
�� � � � I �m from Riverdale City.

The first variant is correct, unless Riverdale is an official name of the place, like Oklahoma City. Since there are two New Yorks (state and city), it is possible to say New York City and the City of New York. I guess this must be the explanation.

In the first sentence - the word city is not capitalized because it is not part of the name.
In the second sentence - City is part of the name of the town.

  I �m from the city of Riverdale.
  I �m from Riverdale City.
