Stupidness or Stupidity?

Native speakers, please explain the difference between the 2:
Stupidness and Stupidity
British dictionaries only give Stupidityas an available option, Merriam Webster gives both

I would use only "stupidity". "Stupidness" might be acceptable, but it definitely isn t common.

Hi Maryby22

It s perfectly acceptable in Australia and we tend to follow British English.  It s listed in my Maquarie Dictionary, the Australian National Dictionary, which has 200,000 definitions.

I agree with yanogator that stupidity is more common.

There s a nice explanation here

Cheers

Nice example Zora! Except I read it as The stupidness of my students is stupidly stupid. Oddly enough it still made perfect sense to me!
