Hi, Miss Noor,
For example, a nice poem of Wiliam Blake (an English artist and poet 1757-1827)

 Laughing Song
When the green woods laugh with the voice of joy,
And the dimpling stream runs laughing by;
When the air does laugh with our merry wit,
And the green hill laughs with the noise of it;

when the meadows laugh with lively green,
And the grasshopper laughs in the merry scene,
When Mary and Susan and Emily
With their sweet round mouths sing "Ha, ha he!"

When the painted birds laugh in the shade,
Where our table with cherries and nuts is spread:
Come live, and be merry, and join with me,
To sing the sweet chorus of "Ha, ha, he!"

What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails
Thats what little boys are made of !
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice and all things nice
Thats what little girls are made of!

Spring rain
conveyed under the trees
in drops.

A green willow,
dripping down into the mud,
at low tide.

With every gust of wind,
the butterfly changes its place
on the willow.

The old pond:
a frog jumps in,-
the sound of water.

ATIONS- Poem

If we meet and I say, "Hi,"
That s a salutation.
If you ask me how I feel,
That s consideration.
If we stop and talk awhile,
That s a conversation.
If we understand each other,
That s communication.
If we argue, scream, and fight,
That s an altercation.
If later we apologize,
That s reconciliation.
If we help each other home,
That s cooperation.
And all these ations added up
Make civilization.

(And if I say this is a wonderful poem,
Is that exaggeration?)

Hi Ms. Noor,

Try limericks because they can be traced back to 14th century England. Here is a good link.

http://www.poetry-online.org/limericks.htm

Please be careful because many limericks are for adults.
