What about...what do you usually do on weekends? talking about weekends in general not about  a specific one....well it �s my opinion.......

We learn/teach it as `at the weekend`. However, volga has a very good point there, if I may say so. Smile

As a US native speaker, I usually say/hear "on the weekend", but sometimes "over" or "during".

Hi..In British language, they say "at the weekend".American people tend to say "on the weekend".

Well, we use both, and both are correct.
 
US English is usually �on � and BE is usually �at �.  English is so global now, with TV and movies etc, that they are almost interchangable.  �Over � and "during � are also used but not as frequently.
