Can you help me?

Hello everybody!!!!

I read in a biography the expression "pea pie" and I don t know the meaning, can you help me?

The text says: " Paul Newman, actor, director, and racing driving, was born so good-looking that pea pie said it was a shame to waste such beauty on a boy".

   Thanks in advance.     Arito

I think Ishorton99 is absolutely right, since "people" works perfectly in the sentence.
