   Hi everybody!! Hug
 
 I hope you are all happy.. I really enjoy it here. I need your help and ideas,, please..
 
 Can anyone suggest new techinques for teaching abstract words; love, freedom, faith, liberty..?
 
 I do not want the translation into the students � mother tongue, but it seems hard to do it any other way!!Confused

Hi Sahumah,
Think about using graphic organizers

Also, research has proven that using opposites really helps students to understand concepts and remember them.
So, introduce "love" with "hate"
freedom with bondage
faith with desperation, etc.

try using pictures, it has worked for me when teaching abstract nouns. for example  for love i use a heart with two people kissing, for peace a pigeon, etc.. and i do a pantomime game .
