Please help me . Put the verbs into the correct tense
The man (fall) as he (get) into the bus
My answer is FELL and GOT... But i also wonder if the second is GOT or WAS GETTING. Please help me to solve this. Thanks in advance

I would say "was getting". The way I see it, unless the context implies otherwise , it �s a progressive action in the passed interrupted by another action.

Thanks, but i am wondering that the second action happens quickly, I mean in a short time, so we often used the past simple "GOT". Am I wrong?
