In Holiday ?

Could you please tell me, if there is a situation in which preposition in is correct with holiday? I thought only on is possible and I found the expression in holiday in Opportunities textbook and Im confused. Thanks a lot.

That must be a typo... I ve never heard or read the use of "in holiday".

On holiday , yes. Perhaps, as Silke says, there s a typo and the word mood , for example, is missing - because I can tell you that s the way I m starting to feel now. Light at the end of the tunnel and all that (and it s not a train)...

Yours with an early woo-hoo!

You can "holiday in a place"...

"We like to holiday in tropical climates"
"We are are holidaying in Australia this summer."
"Contact John for tips on holidaying in India."
"We holidayed in Antarctica last year"

You can sometimes use in where holiday is an adjective e.g. I feel very lazy -I m in holiday mode. When is it on?  It s (on) in  holiday time.

Oh, and as Alamz said, he is in a holiday mood (hear hear Almaz)

If it`s smth like in a holiday/festive mood, it`s quite possible (meaning a temporary state of mind or feeling)

Also I`m in the mood for a holiday.

It could also be the negative form `I`m in no mood for a holiday`

But if you want to say that you`re away from work, you`re on holiday.
