1.The school provides all its students ___ books.
a) with

2.She s keen ___ music. "______"
b) on/So am I

3.My German friend talked to a lot of people, but ____ of them could respond in German.
a) none

4.Jack never travels by car and________ .
c) I don t either (you could also say neither do I but it isn t one of the options)

5. They had a _______ agreement to keep each other fully informed.
d)long-standing

6. The report was ____ of the new bill
b) highly critical (after the verb to be we always use an adjective - adverbs then modify adjectives)

7.c) Not untill he apologises will I speak to him again

prepare to sit an exam. (I think this might have it s linguistic origins in the idea that you are generally sitting down when you do an exam, but that s just a guess!)

8. He solved the exercise ____
c) incredibly quickly (you are describing the verb solve and adverbs modify other adverbs)

9. I have 2 sisters, ____ live abroad
a) both of whom

10. Marry bought me a lot of Italian books, _____ I could read without a dictionary
a) most of wich ( which should be spelt with an h at the beginning - you are referring to things not people)

11. should be I don t know what this word means - neither of your answers are correct, but this could be a typo!

Hope that helps!

I agree with Ishorton99 except for the 7th question. It must be b
as it is an inverted structure.
b) Not until does he apologise I will speak to him again.
Best wishes

I agree 100% with Ishorton99 and sorry duygy2 there is no way number 7 could be B as it makes no sense at all. It is definitely C.

I also agree with Ishorton99 answers and explanations.  7 is definitely C. As cheezels points out  B makes no sense. it s an inverted sentence we don t need to add does. In the present simple affirmative we add do only in empathetic sentences.

In sentence 5 long standing means it has existed for a long time

In sentences 9  with expressions of quantity, with superlatives, with first, second etc, and with last and usually after prepositions we use whom

a number of whom,  both of whom, some of whom,  the majority of whom,  the youngest of whom, the last of whom, etc.

Hope that helps

Lindsey is spot-on on all of them.  I would make one additional comment though:

In common use, "whom" is rapidly being replaced by "who".  An excerpt from Ask Oxford:

Strictly speaking, it is correct to use who as the subject of a verb and whom as the object, e.g. Who saw you? but Whom did you see? It is also strictly right to use whom after a preposition, as in To whom were you talking just now? In practice, few people follow this rule; most use who all the time, and a sentence like To whom were you talking? can sound too formal.

Also: in #7 I m pretty sure "untill" should be "until" (one L)--does anybody know a rule stating different?

I agree with Ishorton, too.
Douglas, you re right: "until" is spelled with one L. "Till", on the other hand, is spelled with a double L.
