libertybell ... little frilly parasol are called "Ombrelle"
in france ... ombre = shade ... meaning they provide shade
and therefore protect you from the sun.
 
Nowdays, there isn īt anyone using "ombrelle"
to protect themselves from the sun.
 
young ones wear caps, some ladies were nice big hats.
 
but to protect ones from the sun, sunscreen lotion or cream are being used ;)
