It is certainly less than genteel, but not exactly swearing. Best to avoid among superiors, mixed company or those you do not know very well. Save it for informal situations.

I and my girlfriends - well, we just don �t use it.  It�s not really appropriate however the fellas do use it but mainly between themselves and generally we womenfolk don�t blink an eyelid when they do (unless it�s in the presence of our parents or children).
