"My job is a doctor" sounds strange to me.

Hi

I always tell this to my students:

If my job is a doctor, I ll tell my job to get up and go to the hospital and work. I, as it stands for me, I ll stay in the blankets for about a few more hours

My job is....in Portuguese sounds well, but, for me, sounds really strange in English.
Not sure, I am not a native
