You could ask your students to check for their writing for these qualities:

Is your work neat and tidy?

Are your letters evenly sized and correctly formed?

Are your letters evenly spaced? Not too cramped, or too spread out.

Is there a regular slope or slant?

To evaluate you could have check boxes for each item:

Neatness ____

Even size ____

Spacing ____

Even slope _____
