Time Preposition (ON or IN)

  Hello My Dear friends,

We use on   for days and dates.    in for months and years
  e.g : on Saturday - on 21st March, 2008
           in December - in 2009

What about a month and a year together?

  ___ March 2008??

   on or in and why??

 Thanks in advance
