song for either weather or months
|
I want to use a song before we start our new book. The first chapter of the book is about months and seasons and weather so I would like to find something connected to those subjects. I am NOT looking for songs written especially to teach, but rather something 11 year old students would put on their mp s/ipods. It is enough if it has just a vague link to the subject. "You ve got a friend" and "wake me up when September ends" would be great but they are a bit difficult for their level.
Any ideas anyone? (I checked the old forum posts but didn t find anything) |

There is a song for Rihanna... It is a famous song here in my country... It has vocabulary about rain, pouring rain (which is a really strong rain... ), c louds, sunshine and more... besides beeing a very romantic song... If you re teaching adolescents it s really good, I ve used it... It is called Umbrella... Here it s the link...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvBfHwUxHIk&ob=av3e
If you want the video, you can download a "youtube downloader" that will do the trick and you can show the video to your students without internet connection.
You can download the song from:
http://beemp3.com/ You have to search for the song in the tool bar and then click on the name of the song. After that, enter the code, and then you click on the right button of your mouse to "save the link as..." It ll take like 3 or five minutes to download the full song...
Hope it helps!

Thank you all so much! The umbrella song is great!
I already use the song by boney M to help them remember the months but to work on as a song in itself it is, how will I put this, a bit minimal
After I logged out of ESLp I heard Here comes the sun by the Beatles. that might also work (for anyone else interested in the subject) |
