As a native speaker I think both of these are OK, depending on the use.

This is what sounds best to me:

This is Fred Astaire, he �s a dancer and a singer. (He mainly dances)

This is Michael Jackson, he �s a singer and dancer. (He does both equally well and together, but I would put singer first for him)
