Reported speech

Hi
I just want to share with you an idea that I did with my students today to help them practise reported speech.
The class sat in pairs in rows as if they were at a cinema. Each pair had a hearing person and a deaf person
The deaf person had a pair of headphones or earplugs (we used blue tak) so that they could not hear anything.
I played short clips from Friends available on youtube. The hearing person had to report to the deaf person what was being said in the clip.
It was hilarious and illustrated the purpose of reported speech in a natural way.
Try it.
Joy
