Adverbs of frequency word order

Hello dear teachers,
I am a little confused with the word order in a negative sentence that has an adverb of frequency.
Does this sound correct:
I don t often play the piano.
Also is it correct to say frequency adverbs instead of adverbs of frequency ?
Thank you,
Zulia

Hi Zulia,

Your negative sentence is correct, because in negative sentences and questions, the adverbs of frequency come before the main verb  for example :

I don t often see my brother.

Do you always walk to work ?

Of course the both names are correct :

- adverbs of frequency

- frequency adverbs
