English to deaf students

I have to teach English to deaf students and I don t know how. Anyone knows what is the best technique to teach this students when English is not their first language?

When we have deaf students in our regular schools, we usually have someone hand signing for them. Did you check?
If not, make sure that your student is always looking at you and can "read" your face and body language.

As Manonski says but I would go further by suggesting that you try to learn a little sign language if it is at all possible, just the very basic stuff like greetings it will be invaluable if you continue to teach deaf students.

Hi!

Facial expression is very important!

Always make sure you look directly at their face and try to pronounce words as clear as possible.

Smile and use your body expression  whenever possible!

Use colourful pictures to teach concepts and make matching exercises-words relating to pictures.

Also I agree you should learn some gesture language if you can!

Good luck!!
