HOW CAN YOU UPLOAD HEAVY FILES?????

I ve been trying to upload some very nice materials but  it s been impossible due to the size of the files. In fact I ve been sending activities in "parts" for this very reason.
However, I see that some of the worksheets to download have a lot of images and they ve been uploaded.
How can I upload a word doc with lots of images so that it is not too heavy to be uploaded????
By the way, congratulations to all, I see there are brilliant teachers all around the world!!!

There are lots of possibilities to rezise your pictures. I use this one and it works very well. It is free, you can download it.

You can also compress the pictures while in Word or other similar programs. There are numerous quality levels, so keep reducing the ppi until the document is under 500kb.

While making the wss, try to resize the pictures before inserting them into the new document.
Or delete all unnecessary pictures.
Or upload the worksheet in PPT section - the limit is much higher there! Copy the doc into a blank ppt.

You can use this batch resizer program - free software:
http://www.pixelapp.com/Free-Photo-Converter.htm
It resizes hundreds of pictures in a few moments!

I suppose many downloaders tend to download single worksheets rather than parts of a worksheet... So please try to make it more convenient...

Resized pictures are ok. Except from "posters", noone prints the worksheets on large pieces of paper (A3), so it is not necessary to have the pictures in high resolution... Most cliparts can be resized to the size of 10 - 20 kB without losing the quality. :-D

Thanks a lot for your concerns!
PS: When uploading a document consisting of several pages or  full of cards, state the number of playing cards in the description or mention the number of pages. It helps the downloaders to see  the quality / the amount of text / cards shared... Most downloaders look at the preview page 1 only, so they are not aware you are sharing much more than 6 cards only...

You also may upload the worksheet in colour, followed by ws in BW + key in one file.

If you use small size cliparts, you will be be able to upload 10 pages of text and pics with no problems...

Good luck!
