Word of the Day: part 2

Hello! Part 2 of Word of the Day is here.
A reminder incase you are just logging in now.

Today s word is scrimshanker.

If you know the word then forget it and create a new and better definition.  I m lacking humour generally, being an over serious person, so if you make me laugh for more than 5 seconds your sure to be the winner.
So start scrimshanking or whatever you do when you partake in W.O.D.

We already have a couple of definitions and you can see them here: http://www.eslprintables.com/forum/topic.asp?id=24632#. I will be going to bed soon and when I wake up in the morning the winner will be decided by which side of the bed I get up from.

Hoping for some good ones to start my day of well.

A scrim is a a finely woven piece of cloth, a shank is a "homemade" knife which convicts make out of whatever materials they can get their hands on. A scrimshanker therefore is a person (usually a convict) who uses a fine woven cloth to cover the handle of his shank so that he won t hurt his delicate hands as he repeatedly stabs a fellow inmate to death.
