Apodo, I don �t know about Australian English, but in American English, we rarely use have not without do in the simple present. About a hundred years ago, yes, but not now. The language has changed.
 
And Bruce vanogator, I mentioned that "hasn �t got" is using get as the main verb, not have. It is still in the form of the present perfect.
 
imanito, your sentence is also correct.

Sorry Moody... you are mistaken in your assumption that "has got" is the present perfect tense in this type of sentence. It �s not. It is the verb "have got" or "have"... in it�s third person present singular negative form.

As 4 ur question : "Why can �t we say hasn �t ???"
We can �t use hasn �t moon without got (in this case) so either It hasn �t got moons OR It has no moons.
If u want 2 use has and not does. :)
