I think it is to score a basket and I �ve also heard to score a point

I think downunder we use goals and points so maybe that is SBE and basket is SAE. 
 
I can�t say I�ve ever heard of scoring a basket here in Oz but I�ll certainly be paying more attention next time there is a game on TV.
