Syndrome withdrawal

Hello, everybody,

could you help me with a vocabulary question, please?

which of these is better, or rather, more frequent: abstinence syndrome or syndrome withdrawal? Or is there something yet better?

Thank you very much in advance.

I looked both of them up and they are both correct, but the one I ve heard  is withdrawl syndrome.

A person has withdrawal symptoms.
I ve never heard of withdrawal syndrome - that doesn t make sense.
It s not a syndrome - it s a period of withdrawal when coming down from drug abuse.

A syndrome is a group of symptoms, so we can use withdrawal syndrome to describe the symptoms someone suffers when withdrawing from a particular drug.
