What īs the difference?

Hi again dear colleagues. can you help me please? I īd like to know the difference between genre and type of texts. When there īs a question about the type of text or the genre of the text, how or what  should the answer be?
thank you so much for your help.

Hi

The genre refers to the literary genre such as novel, short story, drama etc
Type refers to formal and informal.

I hope this can give a clue.

As far as I know, text types are like writing types such as descriptive, narrative but genre is used as a term for the category such as literature, music and so forth.

Dear colleague,

A text type is to say whether the text is narrative, descriptive, argumentative, descriptive or expository.

Note that all texts are somehow descriptive: that īs why we qualify texts as narrative descriptive.

Talking about text genre is defining a written text as a pamphlet, an obituary, a history text, or is it a biographical one.
