Flashcards or miming the actions are a good idea for good comprehension!

Cheers!

I introduced verbs to my students using charades.  Each student took turns drawing a card and acting out the word for the class to guess.  There was a lot of laughing and having fun.  They caught on real quick to what verbs were.

You can choose eight verbs- listen, cook, play, watch, dance, sing etc.

Mime and say and ask the students to repeat after you and mime as well.

Then, put flashcards of these verbs on the baord.....again ask them to repeat after you. Ask two students to come forward. Tell them "cook" "watch" etc. and they must touch the right flashcard.

Then, one student mimes one verb and the rest of the class must guess what he/she s doing.

Games, repetition and flashcards are the best tools to introduce sth. to beginners.
