Free of/ free to?

Hi, everybody!
I need some help. How do you say free to do something or free of doing something?
Thanks in advance

I would say "free to do" something if I meant I was giving permission or someone had permission to do something.  "You re free to play in the yard."

"Free of" mean something is lacking/missing/doesn t have something.  "free of fat" = fat-free
