- suggest possible words Charlotte could write (make a poster with words written like in a spiderweb
- write an alternative ending to the story
- make a list of unusual animals people could keep as pets and why
- after each chapter have sts write tasks for others - e.g. 10 T/F sentences for others to solve, a sorting out task with kinds of animals or actions, a fill-in summary of the story - you can have them do it in notebooks and then on posters so the whole class could participate
- a project about spiders (there are always kids interested in bugs)
- what would you do if you were the girl in the story?
- recreate the farm - have a large drawing of the farm or the key places in the story and have sts write what happened where - e. g. this is where Chralotte first showed up, etc.
- have names and drawings of characters on posters with speech bubbles and have sts fill in the speech bubbles with typical stuff those characters would say
- have sts pretend to be Charlotte and think of one fantastic word which could be used to describe the best thing about each of the students in your class...
