Sorry, I think I have used the wrong word, when I said image I was referring to a statue (I made a wrong translation from Spanish, an image on a column may sound strange)

Image could also refer to something produced by a sculptor and statue is one of it.

Image could also refer to a representation of something and statue also represents something ( Statue of Liberty represents freedom, Christ the Redeemer represents Christianity, Statue of David refers to the Renaissance etc).
