Hi,
in Italy, in May and June, there are National Assessment Tests about Italian and Maths.
Here you can have a look at the tests and download them, if you want http://www.icvalesium.it/websec1/SEZDOCENTI/didattica/homedidattica.htm (there are keys too) .
The Italian government will probably introduce an English and French test.
What about your countries?

Hello,
Well in Greece there are tests that certify the knowledge of candidates that are designed by the educational ministry.You can visit http://www.kpg.ypepth.gr and find samples for English, French, German and Italian tests. |

thanks for your reply; that �s really interesting because I thing that is what is going to happen in Italy too.
Is it possible to download the tests given year by year , like in the link I provided?
I found the link to download the tests but I couldn�t open the PDF files  . Perhaps there are other sites with files easy to open . I tried to google something but I wasn�t successful.

Hi
It �s the same here; we have Math and Portuguese final exams; for the last four years, esl teachers have decided that it was about time to do something similar for English, so, we usually have a final test, the same for all the students in our school. In Spain there isn �t a national test at all. Teachers are expected to assess the students � knowledge according to a general curriculum which is, mainly, shared by every region (there are 17) although each one can ibnclude in the curriculum specific contents that only the students living there are supposed to know.
Does the national test work in your countries? It can be a good idea, I guess!

I think National Tests can work only if they are very well prepared (time, a clear syllabus and good teaching methods) .
They can �t work with students with special needs.
