Well, I think that nowadays there are many religions practised in England. The most common I think is the Protestant or Anglican (The Church of England and The Church of Scotland).

You can get some information in:
http://www.england.org.za/england-religion.php
http://www.churchofengland.org/

There is the following web page http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/questions/hisreligions.html which explains it quite well for young students.

You can google Religions in England and you get thousands of links.
I hope it helps!

If you mean the established or official church in England, then it is definitely the Church of England. Im not too sure how Protestant it actually is, but its certainly the central church of the Anglican Community.

The Church of Scotland (known as The Kirk) is the major church - strangely enough - in Scotland and is completely independent of the state. It is Protestant and Presbyterian while the much smaller Scottish Episcopal Church is Anglican (and sometimes humorously referred to as The English Kirk ).

Incidentally, in Scotland, we were always taught to avoid discussing religion, politics and moderators arcana in mixed company Wink
