Hello eveyone! I need an advice because I teach 13 years old girl and she would like to read some book. But I can �t find any easy book. She is probably an advanced beginner but I am not sure, she goes to 6th class in elementary school. She likes sport and dogs. My idea is to read The Little prince (Exupery) with her.. Do you know some interesting book for my little student? Thank you very much! Enjoy your english-lessons!  Kristina

I don �t think that the Little Prince is an easy book. In my opinion you should try some of the Easy Readers from Longman, Macmillan, Oxford or Penguin. Just google these titles and you �ll find lots of interesting books for each level. |

Hi Kristina,
I think I know the level of Czech students and I strongly suggest to use graded readers from Penguin Readers, Cambridge English Readers, Oxford Bookworms, or Black Cat Readers - series for kids called Green Apple, Macmillan or Longman.
The number of headwords is 200, 300, 400, 600, 700, 1000, 1200, 15000, 1600, 1800, 2000.
You should try your local public library. The big libraries usually have some graded readers... Even the small school libraries...
Publishers of EFL graded readers have a big variety of books for beginners, the books are aimed at students with very limited vocabulary AND grammar.
The graded readers aimed at NATIVE English kids are full of words your student doesn �t know... These readers are teaching English to native speakers to read, so the vocabulary and grammar is usually very wide and quite advanced ...
about animals:
Call of the Wild (about a dog) ! + film!
White Fang (about a dog) ! + film!
 In the Jungle (you can type the text easily)
The Jungle book (wild animals) + film
Mowgli learns to swim (wild animals)
Black Beauty (about a horse) + film!

Begin with very easy stories, below her level and gradually encourage her to read more difficult books...
You may try to find a simplified book she already knows (she saw the film adaptation/ or read the unabridged book in Czech)...
Last not least - try ENGLISHPRINTABLES MINIBOOKS! They are cute and graded... Some are elementary, some pre-inermediate... Please note some teens don�t like fairy tales, so print tales as well as true stories or fables...
