Halloween

Hi everyone

Our adult students have asked to have a Halloween party - helllllllp.  I have no experience with Halloween parties.  Halloween is not such a big part of Australian life but our overseas students want to experience it.

What do we do?

How can we make our costumes at a low cost?

What do we eat?

All suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Jayho

Hello!
I m arranging a party on the 30th of October for the children at the age of 8-12.
At the beginning I m going to read a short adapted story about Halloween - after that I ll ask the questions and will give sweets for the correct answers.
2. Than there will be some fun activities:
- in two teams to pass orange ballons with the help of any pasrt of the body, except hands.
- halloween darts
- there will be a picture of a black cat and the kids should pin the tail(  with the closed eyes)
- there will be pictures with halloween drawings(  a cat, bat, witch, pumpkin) and so on - I ll show the row of these pictures and in several minutes the two teams must put the pictures in the correct orders.
All the winners will get sweets in the shape of jaws, skeletons, worms ( it s sold in the shops).
3. I ve already announced the contest for the best Halloween story and picture. At the end of the party the winners will get the prizes -  skeleton toys and mittens with the black cats on them.
4. There will be also teas and sweets.
5. The decorations in the room will be the folloeing:
- ballons, painted as ghosts;
- a big white cloth on the wall with the dried leaves, pinned on it;
- a net ( I ve made it from a rope) with the toy spiders on it,
- glass jars ( glued and wrapped with the orange paper) with candles inside.
- pictures of the bats and pumpkins, cut from the paper - thery will be everywhere - on the wall,. floor, windows.
- And on onw wall there will be Halloween recepies - tasty food, made from pumpkin.
Good luck, Maria.

Edit: face painting with shabby secondhand clothing make great costumes for anything from clowns, vampires, to ghouls and zombies.
