Comparison of equality

Hi there,
could you make a favour? Is there any suggestion how to teach comparison of equality to elementary level in a clear way? Thanks in advance . Hugs from Tunisia

HI!
Why don t you try "twins" ?
Firstly make sure they understand or remember "taller than", "more handsome than". Then draw a picture of twins (two boys or two girls) or make a word document with questions in it and print it! Make sure the twins are identical. Then ask: Is Mike taller than his brother? Is Tony fatter than his brother? After they answer write on the board "Mike is as tall/fat as Tony". Let them guess what that means ( in general try to make your ss guess the answers as it makes the lesson more interesting to them and they learn in a more active way).

Then-if you want to introduce "not as...as"- write different school grades or sport achievements and write "Mike is as fast as Tony" and ask them "Is that sentence true?" . After they provide you with the answer introduce "not" in the sentence.

Before you get them do exercises get them to focus on the fact that the adjective itself never changes between "as...as", in contrast to "tall-taller than"

I hope my suggestion has come in handy! Enjoy your lesson!
