Hi,

I ve found this senence in the student s book:

The rhinoceros has two horns: one short one behind one long one.

I don t understand it . I think there is a mistake !!

What do you think ??

there is no mistake.

You have to read :
one short one (= horn) behind ...
... one long one (= horn)

In other words "The rhinoceros has 2 horns. The shorter one is behind the longer one.

I think it should be "a short one behind a long one".

Maryse is right; the sentence is grammatically correct as it stands. But Minka makes a great point: the sentence would be much less confusing as she rewrote it.
