I am going to teach students how to use actually in their conversation

Is there any game or activiy to use ??

You don �t say what age your students are but here is one activity:

Use pictures and make statements. eg: Show a picture of an elephant and say �This a giraffe. �

The reply, �Actually it �s an elephant. �

Is that a cougar? Actually it �s a .......

Is that pencil case Maria �s? No. Actually it belongs to Anne.

You can make more difficult sentences once the concept is understood by using the ideas below.

Actually (adverb)

1 as the truth or facts of a situation:we must pay attention to what young people are actually doing
2 [sentence adverb] used to emphasize that something someone has said or done is surprising:he actually expected me to be pleased about it!
used when expressing a contradictory or unexpected opinion or correcting someone:�Tom�s happy anyway.� �He isn�t , actually, not any more.�
used to introduce a new topic or to add information to a previous statement:he had a thick Cockney accent � he sounded like my grandad actually
