He wishes he could become the karate champion in the future. and My parents wish they  would buy a house in the countriside next year. My parents wish they could buy a house in the countryside next year. What is the differences between "would" and "could" in this structure? Thanks in advance | 28 Oct 2011

							| With "wish", we use "would" for other people, but not for ouselves.   I wish you would turn down the radio. I wish my boss would trust me more. I wish the rain would stop.   I wish I could speak fluent Portuguese. I wish we could work together.   Bruce | 29 Oct 2011
