A word defining...

Dear colleagues,

What is the word we use as a definition of:

a person who tries to please people just to get his own benefits.

Thanks in advance.

I ve worked on a video from BBCLearning English, and they were talking about the word smoothie as a refreshment, and, at the same time they were talking about smoothie as an adjective meaning a person who tells nice things to other people so that he can have his/her own benefit, that is the things he wants. I suppose this is quite informal. It was in the section The English we speak.
