road safety theme

Dear people at ESLp,
I am looking for a simple reading or even small role plays connected to road safety (anything from kids wanting a safer place to cross to someone having an accident, as long as it has some kind of connection to the subject)
I need it for my 5th graders, they are 10 years old and are at an elementary level.
I searched the site but didn t find anything appropriate. If you know of any worksheet or site, I d be very grateful if you could give me a link....
Thanks, marion

Hello, Marion,
Have you thought of asking them to bring small cars and simulate different traffic situations?

Traffic Light Song
Tune: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Twinkle, twinkle traffic light,
Round the corner shining bright.
Red means stop,
Green means go,
Yellow means very, very slow.
Twinkle, twinkle traffic light,
Round the corner shining bright.

Hello Marianne,
This is my site about road safety, there is a whole workbook and many things you can download and use for your own ideas. It has been approved by the ministry in Israel, take whatever you need and many things from schools around the world. I contributed this work for teachers and kids whereever they may be.
Best,
Moma

Thank you all for your responses. I already have some nice videos (the bbc hedgehog campaign is delightful) and I already downloaded some of the worksheets from the site before I turned to the forum (thanks anyway ascincoquinas).
I hoped to find a reading which would be appropriate for my 5th graders since with them I will have a double class on road safety day . I will check out all the links you people so kindly provided. BTW, does anyone know if it is possible to download videos from the British Council site? (I don t have internet in school...)
