Hi ,

What is the semantic distinction between " correspondent " and " reporter" ?

Thanks in advance

a correspondent reports news from a particular country, while the reporter collects and reports from home or wherever:)
Let s see what the native speakers have to say...

Thank you Sophia .. You ve been so helpful. What really confused me were the meanings of the two words in Longman dictionary :

correpondent : someone who is employed by a newspaper or a television station etc to report news from a particular area or on a particular subject =  journalist

while ..
reporter : someone whose job is to write about news events for a newspaper, or to tell people about them on television or on the radio
