I have heard it is possible to keep your files out there on the net so that you have access to them from any computer.
If so, do you know of any links where I could do this?
And then:
Can one save different types of files in the same site (links, word documents, music, images, etc...)?
Finally:
Are those sites private and safe or are they public?

There is google doc. and drop box. Yes they are private and you can use them to share files. Personally, I use goggle doc.
