Portuguese teachers ´ help is needed

Hello!
I m correcting some compositions and I got stuck on a sentence:"With so much diversion, classes were staying behind." This sentence sounds me a little Portuguese. I got the idea but I don t know the correct expression for it. The student wanted to say:"Com tanta diverso as aulas foram ficando para trs."How would you translate it?
Thanks in advance.

Without understanding the Portuguese, I m going to take a guess, based on the student s original sentence. It might be With so many distractions, classes were getting behind. Again, it s just a guess. Bruce |

Well, you could also try something like:
With so much fun classes were letting/getting behind!
You re welcome =)

What about" I was having a really good time so school was on the back of my mind!"
I know this is a "free" translation but what is really important is the meaning, don t you agree?
Hope it may be useful.
Have a nice day!
