It ´s snowy.

Hello, can you help me? I don t know, if I can use a phrase "It s snowy." to answer the question "What s the weather like today?" I look out of the window, there is a lot of snow everywhere, now it isn t snowing, but maybe.... it is going to snow.... Is it snowy? :-) Thanks for your answers.

Since the question was about the weather, not the condition of the ground or steets, I would say that "It s snowy" isn t quite right. I d say "There s snow on the ground". Even though that doesn t describe the weather, it does give true and probably useful information.

I think It s snowy is OK, if someone is asking what s it like out there? and it has been snowing. But not OK if it looks like it s going to snow. In that case, you would say, it looks like snow. Hello Bruce, if you are still reading this... Lynne B
