how to use Quiet

Could somebody help me here, please

Well tell me if one of them was wrote correctly and give me the explanation :

My weekend was quiet
I had a quiet weekend

If you had a quiet weekend at home, it means that you really didn t do anything but relax and take it easy.
I d say the correct or most correct answer is:

I had a quiet weekend (at home)

6 Mar 2012

I agree with libertybelle for a simple statement. I can see using "My weekend was quiet" in the context of more information.

My weekend was quiet after the crazy week I had.
I worked like a slave all week, but my weekend was quiet.

Both are correct and both can have the same meaning.  The tendency in meanings (as already explained) is that "I had a quiet weekend" is more personal (more by choice) and "my weekend was quiet" tends to imply it was free of outside influences.
