Right way to write dates - american English

Which is like the right way to write the date on the Blackboard?

for example: Wednesday, March 21st - Is this correct? should I remove the comma, o should I leave it?
Im asking cause now, I have a big doubt!

Thanks in advanced.

You re exactly right!  Keep the comma in there, too.
If you write the abbreviated date in American English, it is always: month / day / year ex. 12 / 22 / 2013.
I teach in China, and my students always get confused when I write the abbreviated date American style because they are used to day / month / year!!!

You could also write Wednesday, March 21. Both ways are very common.
