And, by the way. Is this correct? Lorna�s parents don�t want her to go out with David. Lorna�s parents would rather ... her not go out with David. I Know would rather must be followed by a bare infinitive but I�m not sure if the sentece is correct this way. It sounds odd to me.

I would say:
Lorna �s parents would rather she didn �t go out with David. |
