Please advise!

Would please advise me if this sentence is correct.

Yes, there have been some problems, but I hoped that week to week things would improve .

Many thanks!

In my opinion, I would change "week to week" for "week after week", "progressively", "little by little"

I would prefer, Yes, there have been some problems, but from week to week, I kept hoping that things would improve.

Week after week is also good and infers a sense of desperation to get things improved.

My suggestion is

" Yes, there have been problems but as weeks go by I hope things would improve.

or

" Yes , there have been problems but as weeks go by I am hoping things would improve"

( If you use "hoped" then the situation is no longer true at the moment and this confuses with " have been" which is present perfect and shows that the situation has some connection to the presnt. So the "hope" has to be in simple present tense or present continous

Another option: "I hoped that things would improve from week to week."
